Your garage door is one of the most important entrances and exits in your home. You open it and close it several times a day. With so much use, it’s not unusual that a garage door may need to be replaced. If it does need to be replaced, you need to have it done as soon as possible to prevent potential injury and a stave off a potential break in.

Here are some signs that your garage door needs to be replaced.

It Squeaks. When you open your garage door, does it make squeaking noises? While you may think that these sounds are normal, the fact is that they aren’t. Don’t write them off. They are an indication that there is something wrong with your garage door.

It Gets Stuck. Does your garage door get stuck when you open it or when you try to close it? If so, you need to have it looked at. A garage door should never get stuck when it is being opened or closed.

It Shimmies. When you open or close your garage door, does it shimmy and shake? This is a definite sign that there is a big problem, and that problem needs to be addressed before it gets worse.

It’s Hard to Open and Close. If your garage door is difficult to operate, you’re going to want to have it replaced. Doing so will not only make it easier to use, but it will also prevent the possibility of a dangerous situation.
